SEG distinguishes Professor Leonardo Azevedo with the J. Clarence Karcher Award

The Society for Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) awarded J. Clarence Karcher Award to Professor Leonardo Azevedo in recognition of his contributions to science and technology in areas related to exploration geophysics. Official recognition of the J. Clarence Award will take place during the International Meeting of Applied Geosciences and Energy (IMAGE 2022) in Houston, Texas, from August 28 to September 2, 2022.

The J. Clarence Karcher Award, in honor of the memory of Clarence Karcher, is awarded in recognition of significant contributions for the science and technology of exploration geophysics by a young geophysicist of exceptional abilities who, in the unanimous opinion of the Honors and Awards Committee and the Board of Directors, deserves such recognition.

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists, founded in 1930, is a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving the present and the future of applied geophysics. Intended to inspire today's geophysicists and tomorrow in a unique community platform that encourages collaboration and thought leadership for the advancement of science geophysics around the world.
