Calibrating remote sensing data with field observations in the Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela

CERENA researchers Sandra Heleno, Vasco Miranda, Gabriel Goyanes and Manuel Ribeiro have been involved in field campaign at the Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela (PNSE) in late May 2024 (31-05-2024) within the frame of the project PharmaStar.

The objective was to collect in-situ data and calibrate remote sensing data with very high spatial and spectral resolution about several medicinal plant species occurring in the Park. The data collected with multispectral UAV and in-situ spatial sampling will be combined with satellite imagery and digital processing tools to map the species of interest over the area covering the PNSE.
