João has a Bsc in Biochemistry (2011) and a Msc in Geological Resources (2014), both degrees from Faculty of Sciences University of Porto. He also holds a Msc in Petroleum Engineering (2017) from Instituto Superior Técnico in which his final thesis, entitled “Balancing Static and Dynamic Match and Uncertainty Quantification” was developed at the Uncertainty Quantification Group of Heriot-Watt University. After his graduation, he worked in Total S.A. (2020) as a Geophysical Researcher where he was involved in projects such as, evaluation of the impact of adding prior petrophysical knowledge using a petroelastic model (PEM) in 3D seismic inversions; development of tools that evaluate the consistency of 4D seismic data and reservoir properties (static and dynamic).
