Maria de Lurdes de Figueiredo Gameiro is a PhD of Chemical Engineering (Copper Recovery from Ammoniacal Solutions, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, 2009). At present she is a post-doctoral researcher, with a grant from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, Portugal, at the Centre for Chemical Processes, IST, Universidade de Lisboa. In the first semester of 2013/2014 she was an invited assistant professor at Barreiro School of Technology, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. She lectured Chemical Analysis to the 3rd year of the Chemical Engineering course. Her research interests are in the environmental area with emphasis on solvent extraction, crystallization and modelling. She participated as a researcher in 5 national R&D projects (FCT, QREN, Prime-Ideia) and co-authored several papers in ISI journals and conference proceedings with scientific refereeing.
